Linda Chitty of Kent died Monday, January 30, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center.
Lin was born in Ravenna and lived all of her life in the Kent area. She attended Kent State University, taught briefly and decided education was not her career. Lin worked at the Campus Bus Service, then moved to Roadway where she retired as Claims Supervisor. Her life revolved around her family, her beloved little people Amity and Riley, and her four-legged friends. She loved all animals, especially her kitties.
Lin was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Thelma Chitty; her sister Molly Ann Parks and Jim Wright. She is survived by Amanda Parks Holden (Carl); Carrie Parks Garrido (Dan); Rob Waltz (Heather): Susan Waltz: and Bill Parks. Also mourning Lin are Mary Lou Wright, Rose Roy family, the Daniel Profio family, the Roger Wright family, the Todd Wright family and the Lizette Pirozzoli family. Lin also leaves behind a multitude of grieving friends, a testimony to her thoughtful and caring nature. Her courageous battle against ovarian and colon cancer lasted seventeen years. All who knew her were inspired by her strength and grace.
Cremation has taken place. Lin requested no calling hours. A graveside memorial service will be held in the spring. The date will be announced. Memorials may be made to the Portage County Animal Protective League or the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sandra Hazra and her entire oncology staff for their devoted treatment and support. We deeply appreciate their dedication. Lin loved them.
