Carol "Jane" Rhoads, of Kent, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Robinson Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 30, 1929 in Ravenna, to Jude and Ruth (Sauder) Minnick. She loved flowers, music, her children and grandchildren. She always put everyone else first. Jane was loved by everyone.

She is survived by her husband, Robert M. "Bud" Rhoads (retired Fire Chief of Kent, whom she married on March 16, 1947; sons,: John S. Rhoads of Kent, Jerry Rhoads of Mantua, James B. Rhoads of Kent, Joel A. Rhoads of Kent, daughter: Julie A. Goodwin of Kent; Grandchildren, Joel (Gwyn) Rhoads II, Tiffani, Shannon, Paul, Collette Rhoads; Luigi (Lori) and Stephanie Goodwin; brother, Robert (Viola) Minnick of Ravenna; great grandchildren Andrew, Ashley, Taylor, Brandon, Logan, Dominic, Bradley, Shyanna, Jeffrey, Jaiydin, Mike, Elizabeth, and Joel III.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Stephen Todd and Jeffrey Alan Rhoads and grandson, Chris Rhoads.

Calling hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, February 22 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home 628 West Main Street Kent. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kent Fire Department 320 S. Depeyster Kent, Ohio 44240.
