William Joseph Zdanczewski Jr., 70, of Windham, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at UH Portage Medical Center.

He was born June 7, 1947 in Cleveland, to William Joseph and Margaret L. (Sutton) Zdanczewski Sr. He was a member of the American Legion in Windham and the DAV. Bill loved to fish, watching Old westerns and football.
Bill was an all-around good guy. He was a Vietnam vet that went thru hell over there. Suffered from the effects of Agent Orange most of his life and damn near died then from the shrapnel in his leg. He truly was a hero. But you'd never know it because Bill was a quiet kind of hero. He never talked much about it. He worked the rest of his life on the railroad and retired from there a few years back. He never married or had any kids of his own, but he had dozens of nieces and nephews that loved him and that he loved.

He is survived by brothers, Stanley (Mindy) Zdanczewski and Jimmy (Melissa) Zdanczewski both of Windham; sisters, Harriett Turk of Windham, Kathleen (Floyd) Burnside of Vermilion and Peggy (Jim) Locklay of Atwater; aunt and uncle, Barb and Ron Sutton of Eastlake; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph and Margaret L. (Sutton) Zdanczewski Sr.

Calling hours will be held 3-5 PM Sunday, August 20 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, where funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, August 21. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
