Shirley Casamento, 83, of Kent, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna.

She was born October 22, 1934 in Akron, OH to Kyle and May (Hawk) Gilley.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph A. Casamento, whom she married on 01/02/1959; daughter, Connie (Dave) Sabo of Rootstown; grandson, Kyle (Nicole Brugmann) Sabo of Rootstown, and Eric Newton of Dickson, TN; great grandchild, Kiera Terronova; sister, Mary Brown of Kent; daughter in law, Wanda Newton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Derk Newton, and Joseph A. Casamento, granddaughter, Kristen Newton, brothers, Jack Gilley, James Gilley, brother, Bobby Gilley, and sister, Ruby Gilley.

Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements.
