Shaina Marie Gauer, 29, of Akron, passed into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Barberton Citizen's Hospital in Barberton.

She was born December 27, 1987, in Akron to Wayne Allen and Mary Jane Gauer. Shaina was a faithful, loving daughter, granddaughter, and friend, who loved life and all of its adventures. She had a love of music and enjoyed going to concerts and travelling. Shaina was kind to everyone and never knew a stranger, having numerous friends. She attended college with interests in medicine, always wanting to help others. Shaina had a strong faith and was a good Christian, attending church often. The sunshine she brought to those who knew her will be missed.

She is survived by her parents, Wayne and Mary Gauer; grandparents, Deborah and Edward Tywon of Alexander City, AL; aunt, Cathleen (Timothy) Bennett of Suffield; uncles, Robert (Kim) Sponseller of Wadsworth, Mark Sponseller of Cuyahoga Falls, Daniel (Melinda) Sponseller of Cuyahoga Falls, Mark (Mary Ellen) Gauer of Canal Fulton. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walt and LaVerne Gauer; and uncle, Bruce Gauer.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5th from 6-7PM, with funeral services being held at 7PM at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery at a later date.
