Richard Steven Sherlock, 34, of Kent, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at his home.

He was born October 8, 1982 in Ravenna, to G. Richard and Janith L. (Chermansky) Sherlock. Richard was a 2001 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School and received an Associate Degree from Stark State College. Richard had a kind soul and a big heart. His good nature enabled him to make friends anywhere he went. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially snowboarding, fishing, baseball, cars and motorcycles and loved dogs.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Janith Sherlock of Kent; sisters, Kimberly and Ken Klepek of McCordsville, IN and Lori Sherlock of Chicago, IL; nephew, Conner Klepek; grandmother, Jeanne Sherlock. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Steve and Lois Chermansky; and grandfather, Robert Sherlock.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1-3 PM Sunday, April 9 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent, In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Portage County Animal Protective League,, 8122 Infirmary Road, Ravenna, OH 44266.
