Patricia "Patti" Harmon, 62, of Marana, Arizona passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Born July 1, 1954 in Canton; she graduated from Oakwood High School in Canton and received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Kent State University. At the time of her passing she was a mathematics teacher at Ironwood Ridge High School in Oro Valley, Arizona; previously she taught at McKinley High School in Canton, Stow Munroe Falls High School and at Kent State University. She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Oro Valley, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Pi Mu Epsilon National Mathematics Honor Society.

She is survived by her only son, Michael Harmon of Marana, parents Patrick and Jean Spotleson of Canton, sisters Suzi Spotleson of Canton and Lisa (Dennis) Baker of North Ridgeville, nephew and godson Kyle Baker and niece Kali Baker both of North Ridgeville, sister-in-law Amy Crookston (Harmon) and niece Rane Crookston both of Akron as well as many dear cousins and friends.

Patti deeply loved traveling, crocheting elaborate afghans, her two cats Max and Elton, cooking, baking and spending time with family. She felt at home in the Arizona sunshine where she relocated from Ohio in 2012. She had an extraordinary, lifelong passion for teach mathematics, illustrated by her multi-year nomination to Who's Who Among American Teachers.

Calling hours will be at the Bissler and Sons Funeral Home in Kent, Ohio, Tuesday, April 11th between the hours of 6 and 8pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 11th Street SE, Canton, Ohio, on Wednesday, April 12th at 10:30am with co-celebrants Fr. Joe Ruggieri and Fr. Tom Kraszewski. The family will receive friends at the church at 10:00am prior to mass with a brief inurnment service to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 3469 Lincoln Way East, Massillon, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society in Patricia's name.
