Joan Wingard, 87, of Kent, died Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Akron City Hospital in Akron.

She was born January 1, 1930 in Bellaire, to the late Daniel and Georgiana (nee McMillen) Evans.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Wingard, son, Gary (Carolyn) Wingard of St. Augustine, FL; daughters, Linda Wingard of West Lafayette, and Renee (John) Hinkel of Oceanside, CA; grandson, Daniel Hinkel of Oceanside, CA; granddaughter, Sarah (DeAndre) DeAntoni of Oceanside, CA; great granddaughter, Rylynn; brother, Jerry Evans of Millersburg; and sister Kathryn Lucken of Stow. She was preceded in death by her son, Cory Wingard, three brothers, and six sisters.

Calling hours will be held 11 AM - 1 PM Thursday, September 28 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, September 28 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Weiss officiating. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association C/o Alzheimer's Research, 70 W. Streetsboro Street, Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236.
