After a long and valiant battle, Frank "Jug" Felton of Rootstown passed away in his sleep on Thursday, March 23, 2017, with his wife, Jeanette (Antonelli) of Kent by his side.

Jug was born January 16, 1929, to Agnes and Frank Felton of Kent. He attended Kent City Schools and was an altar boy for St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kent.

While in his twenties, he lived for one year in California before his one true love agreed to be his bride, at which point he dropped everything to return to Kent and to her. The couple were married on June 1, 1957. During their nearly 60 years together, Jug worked for Price Brothers/Flexicore of Kent, and was a member of Laborers Local 894 of Akron until he retired. He was a true head of his family, and his wife and children could not have asked for a better husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

One of Jug's favorite pastimes was gardening. He grew the best tomatoes and cucumbers, his kids were never allowed to set foot in his garden, and not a single weed was safe! He also very much enjoyed watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. His favorite pastime of all, however, was being always beside his wife, Jeanette, who he called his "Pretty girl" every day for 60 years, and being surrounded by his family.

Jug is survived by his wife, Jeanette; his children, Kim Bishop (Charlie Flynt) of Kent, Cheryl (Gordon) Ripley of Kent, Marcy (the late Jimmy) Miller of Rootstown, Frank Felton of Rootstown, and Stephanie (J.D.) Langguth of Rootstown; nine grandchildren, Don Jr., Matt, Kyle, Becca, Geoffrey, Dacoda, Dominique, Chris and Julia; and seven great-grandchildren, Shantz, Ari, Owen, Arrianna, Paityn, Landyn and Grayson. He is also survived by his siblings, Helen, Clara, Gracie, Mildred, Rita and Billy; and brother-in-law, Homer; and many loving nieces including Lori and Renee of New York, Debbie of Barberton, and Denise of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his sisters, Mary and Jean; and brother-in-law, Bob.

The family wishes to thank his long-time doctors, Dr. David Rubin and Dr. Scott Rigby, for "all the years they put up with him," as well as all his wonderful hospice caregivers, including Shelly, Heather, Carolyn and Dr. Prestegaard.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will always remember him as a constant example and source of love, support, guidance and strength for their entire lives.

Calling hours will be held 4-7 PM Tuesday, March 28th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent where funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 29th. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
