Cynthia Parker Matthews, 81, of Hudson, Ohio was born in Cleveland January 15, 1936 to Arthur L. Parker and Helen M. (née Fitzgerald) Parker. Cindy passed away in the company of her children on Saturday July 22, 2017 after battling a rapidly devastating cancer diagnosis early this year. Cindy lived a life filled with joy, abilities, family, talents, and interests. She wonderfully affected the lives of many people throughout her life through her kindness and generosity. As a very private person she spent her last months with a strength of grace and purpose in the company of her children.

Cindy naturally and beautifully created a life of unmatched generosity and thoughtfulness for others and will be missed by her surviving children: daughter Marci Marie Matthews of Hudson, son Parker Thomas Matthews of Kent, and son Streeter Hadley Matthews of Philadelphia PA; her grandson Mason Allyn Matthews of Hudson; her sister Joyce Evans of Lake Placid, NY; her step daughter and family Susan Matthews, David Evarts, Piper Evarts, and Hadley Evarts of Seattle Washington; and many nieces and nephews who also loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Helen Parker, her two brothers Patrick S. Parker and Thomas L. Parker.

Any services will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cleveland Clinic/Akron General, Hospice of The Visiting Nurse, 3358 Ridgewood Drive, Akron, OH 44333. Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory are handling the arrangements.
