Chester J. Mosca, 65, of Kent, passed away peacefully Friday, September 15, 2017. Surrounded by loved ones, expert caregivers, and holding the hand of the love of his life.

He was born on July 8th, 1952 to the late Chester Sr. and Josephine Mosca. Born and raised in Kent, he graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1970, immediately followed by his tenure in the Army National Guard, then onward to building his family. Chet loved a lot of things – fishing, anything on four wheels with a motor, his dog Abbey… but he loved the idea of love the most. He was a beacon of optimism and acceptance. His story had many chapters – and while not all perfect – he ended the book of his life with strength, compassion, and love for all. It's an ending that anyone would be proud of, and one that inescapably leaves you wanting just a little bit more.

He leaves behind as legacy his beloved wife, Joy (Griffiths) Mosca; sons, Tony Mosca of Kent and Larry Mosca of Richmond, VA; and daughter, Madonna (Mosca) Smith of Cuyahoga Falls whom he adored; daughters-in-law, Jessica (Botzman) Mosca and Julia (Finley) Mosca; and son-in-law Adam Smith. He was blessed in his latter years with three remarkable grandchildren, Olivia, Owen, and Josephine. This group of people provided for Chet the fuel for life right up to the very end. While he adored them all, he would want it to be known that he holds no responsibility for the actions of any of them.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 19th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Streetsboro, OH. Services presided over by Fr. Chris Luoni. With a gathering immediately following in the church hall.

Finally, Chet would have wanted memorial contributions to be made anonymously to any organization that you choose – so long as they refuse to discriminate, and genuinely try to do good in this world.
