Carole Lee (nee Knight) Heeter age 76 died October 16th at home surrounded by her family.

Carole was born September 28th 1941. She was the 3rd of the eight children of the late Henry and Virginia Knight of Clarkesviile, Pennsylvania.
Carole graduated from Bethlehem Center High School in 1959. She married Lawrence Allen Heeter in August of 1959. Together they raised 4 children. In 1978 Carole pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She attended W.Howard Nicol School of Practical Nursing in Akron, Ohio. After graduation Carole went to work for Robinson Memorial Hospital from 1979-1993 as a nurse in the Oncology and Orthopedics department. Carole was known for her creativity and humor by her coworkers. Carole worked for Portage Area Senior Services 1994-2000 as a cook and nurse. Carole returned to full time nursing in 2001 at Anna Maria of Aurora until retiring in 2006.

Throughout her life Carole was a kind and generous caregiver to her patients, family and friends. After retiring Carole was a volunteer for Robinson Memorial Hospice.

Carole was a Woman of strong faith and attended various local christian churches throughout her life. Her hobbies were crafting, reading and rose gardening. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Red Hat Society.

Carole leaves behind her husband of 58 years Lawrence Heeter of Ravenna; sons, Larry (Cathy) Heeter and Jim (Sandy) Heeter of Ravenna; daughters, Lori (Mike) Cooper of West Union and Jennifer (Don) Gregg of Rootstown; 7 Grandchildren, Jamie, Anthony, Kiri, Bradley, Brian, Victoria and Michael; 4 Great Grandchildren, Neal, Dominic, Morgan and Hannah. Carole was close with all of her siblings. She leaves behind her sister, Gail (James) Efaw of Sycamore PA, and brothers Ron (Stephanie) Knight of Scotts Valley,CA, Russ (Debbie) Knight of Washington, PA, and Francis "Coker" (Maxine) Flick of Streetsboro, and dozens of beloved nieces and nephews throughout the country. Carole was preceded in death by both of her Parents, her brothers, James Knight, and Charles Flick, and sister, Linda Engleman.

It was Carole's wish to be cremated without any services. Carole's last months of life were celebrated with her closest family and friends surrounding her. She requested no flowers. She asked that anyone that felt moved to honor her life do with kindness to others.
