Condolence & Memory Journal

La - You were very special to the Borden side of the family. We were awful correspondents but you were always in our hearts and thoughts. Your art lives on. Your memory lives on. The world was truly a better place with you in it. Love always.

Almost fifty years ago, when I was a somewhat troubled teenager, La literally took me in and let me live for a few months in that garage that became her studio. I have always remembered her remarkable kindness and patience. She was not only a gifted artist, but a very warm, compassionate woman. My condolences to Jenny and the rest of the family.

I will never forget the first time I encountered La Wilson's work at the Akron Art Museum. Inspired.
I wish I could articulate the powerful connection I experienced to her, through it, as a result. It continues.
My deepest respect to you, La Wilson, and sincere condolences to your family.
