David Michael Kurka

David Michael Kurka, 36, of Windham, died at his home.

He was born August 29, 1980 in Ravenna to George and Rhonda (Burbridge) Kurka. While in South Carolina, he discovered his love for cooking. He became a chef and worked at several restaurants in South Carolina and returned to Portage County and worked at several restaurants here. He loved his dogs, music and Cleveland sports.

He is survived by his parents, George and Rhonda Kurka Sr. of Ravenna; brothers, George (Danya) Kurka of Akron, Jason (Jilian) Kurka of Columbia, SC, and Stephen (Jenn Jarvis) Kurka of Ravenna; nieces and nephews, Zach, Colton, Claire, Alison, and Robert; and grandmother, Bessie Senters.

Memorial services will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, July 15th at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Melinda Kurka officiating. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Bissler & Sons Funeral Home, 628 West Main Street, Kent OH 44240.

God bless the family during this time prayers for peace, comfort and Gods love to shower over everyone mourning. It is a blessing to know him alot of fun times we had growing up together. Forever love you see you when I get there my sweet cousin.

David always greeted me with a smile and a "HI Uncle Bob" every time we would meet. I think he enjoyed our conversations about cooking different items. I will miss that greeting on Christmas Eve that started my holiday
