Mr Hurd was my first teacher in my first class on my first day of 7th grade at Davey Junior High School in 1963. We were, at first, scared of Mr. Hurd, but he proved to be a good guy and we all liked him and going to his room for class, especially when he played the piano. I think I still know the words to "Men of Harlick" which we sang often. I'm very sad to know you are gone Mr Hurd. Hit em long and straight.

Jack and I spent many, MANY, hours playing together on bandstands and we NEVER disagreed as to style, tempo, volume, etc. I loved Jack like a brother and he's always been my best friend! We first met in 1952 when our high school basketball teams played against each other. Jack played for Kent State H.S. and I played for Coventry H.S.
